I am pleased to announce that effective April 16, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and National Guaranty Mortgage Holdings Inc. have successfully completed the acquisition of AIG United Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Company.

The new company has been rebranded as Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Company (“Canada Guaranty”) and is currently the only 100% Canadian owned private mortgage insurer. Canada Guaranty will benefit lenders, mortgage professionals and consumers by fostering a competitive market dynamic and creating new choice among mortgage insurance providers.
